Les Magiciens
is the name I chose to use when showing my work in male photography. It came from this idea to approach portraiture as a collaborative process. Subjects bring their semblance and personalities, we talk, then magic happens.
Matt Ayotte is a gay photography artist living in Montreal. His focus on male portraiture, mainly men from the LGBTQ+ community, has brought him to raise questions around beauty, attraction and gender performance in his work. He is currently working on the completion of his second portrait series while working as a photographer in Montreal and teaching photography at l’Academie de la Photo.
